What We Look For in a Tournament: Blackjack Tournaments USA conducts regular reviews of tournament blackjack events across the country. We focus on Open Events, with structures, rules, and prize pool amounts that align with what our subscribers have indicated they prefer and are willing to travel for. Many (most), events we find are either invitational-only or feature highly unique rules that don’t match the consistent, player-friendly formats our community seeks. We strive to highlight tournaments that make the effort to attend worthwhile, such as those highlighted below.
BJTUSA Tournament Trail Update
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026, tournament blackjack continues strong into its 48th year of organized player-versus-player competition. While the national milestone invites reflection on our freedom and opportunity, the BJTUSA highlighted trail for the remainder of 2026 offers something more immediate: great places to play, new destinations to discover, and the chance to reconnect with the tournament community all summer long.
The 2026 schedule features a nice spread of events with very few date conflicts, giving players excellent flexibility to attend multiple stops without missing others. Formats and rules vary by property—just like the destinations themselves—but the welcoming atmospheres, competitive spirit, and opportunities to meet up with old friends, and make new ones, remains consistent everywhere.
