Date for the June tournament is now firm: Registration starts on June 6th, Play on Saturday June 7th & Sunday June 8th.
We are pleased to provide great set of rules below. One BJTUSA offered note: In the following rules, when describing countdown hands with the term “at” hand 16 and “at” hand 20 it can also be stated as “before” hand 16 and “before” hand 20 and be accurate.
Rules of Play
• Players will pay entry fee and re-buy fees at the cashier’s cage.
• Players will bring the yellow ticket from the cashier to the tournament area.
• All Paragon blackjack rules apply to the tournament play with the following exception:
o Blackjack pay 2 to 1
o Aces can be split 3 times to make 4 hands
• Registration will be Friday 6, 2025 from 5PM to 7PM and Saturday 7,2025 until the end of the Preliminary Rounds (tournament area will open at 10AM)
• Must be a member of Paragon Casino Player’s Club.
• Should the player not advance in a previous preliminary round they have the option to re-buy.
o Pay $100 at the cashier booth.
Player must get a re-buy ticket to bring to the cage
• Re-buys are open until 6PM or when any round falls below 6 players, subject to availability.
• There will be no buy-ins or re-buys after 6:00PM
• One Wild Card entry slip will be deposited into the Wild Card Entry drum for initial buy-in and an additional Wild Card Entry slip will be deposited for each re-buy. Wild Cards drawn from the drum and either claimed or not claimed will be re-deposited into the drum.
• All participants must arrive at the tournament area at least 10 minutes before the beginning of their assigned time to play. All participants must check-in at their assigned table and seat. Late (after round has begun play), participants will be penalized $100 in non-value tournament chips for every hand missed. After the completion of the third (3rd) hand, if the absent player has not been seated they shall be disqualified for that round.
• Each participant will receive $2,500 in non-value tournament chips in every specific round.
• For an extra $10 dealer appreciation fee, the participant can receive an additional $500 in non-value tournament chips. The dealer appreciation buy-in will be offered in every round except for the final round.
• Non-value tournament chips are not to be taken from the table.
• All rounds will consist of:
o 20 hands of blackjack
o Minimum bet of $25 and a maximum bet of $500.
Except for the Final round will be a maximum bet of $1,000 and the Wild Card round which will be 15 hands.
o All bets will be in $25 increments.
o The dealer and/or tournament staff will make a countdown at hand 16 and again at hand 20.
• The tournament will be dealt from a six-deck shoe.
• Only one cut card will be used. The dealer deals to the bottom of the deck, if cards run out during a hand, a shuffled 6 deck shoe will be used to finish the hand.
• Participants must play every hand.
• If a participant is unable to bet the minimum $25 bet, then that participant will be disqualified.
• In the event of a tie, each participant involved will receive $500 in chips and there will be a five-hand playoff. This will continue until a winner is determined.
• The dealer button will determine where the deal begins. This will be determined by dealing a card to each seat from left to right on a designated tournament table. The seat number with the highest card will receive the dealer button. If the same value cards are dealt, first out of the shoe is highest.
• All bets will be made left to right from the dealer button. Participants are not allowed to change or alter any bet after it is placed in the betting area, this includes when participants bet out of order.
• Players must be ready to bet when it is their turn. There will be no more than thirty (30) seconds to place a bet and act on a hand.
• Once a bet has been made, it cannot be changed.
o No string betting is permitted. Bets must be slid into the circle, highest denomination chip on the bottom to the lowest denomination chip on top. If a player string bets, the first chip to hit the felt inside the betting circle will be the player’s bet.
• Blackjack pays 2 to 1.
o If the dealer also has a blackjack the players bet is a push.
o If the dealer has an Ace up there is no insurance or even money offered.
• Players may split same -value cards, including Aces, up to four hands.
• Double downs on splits are allowed except on split Aces which will get only one card each.
• Surrender, insurance and even money are not offered for tournament play.
• Only one wagering position per player.
• English is the official language of this tournament. Players may speak only English during play. No spectator may speak in a language other than English.
• Tournament chips must remain in front of the participants, separated by denomination and in the view of all other participants at that table.
• Tournament players are not permitted to use any aids such as calculators, writing on paper, or writing on back of a hand, etc.
• In the event of a misdeal, all hands will be declared dead. The dealer will shuffle all cards and deal a new hand without moving the dealer button.
• Conversing with spectators may be a cause for disqualification. Spectators who interfere with the game or aid the players may be asked to leave the tournament area.
• Paragon Casino Resort reserves the right to accept or deny any entry into the tournament.
• If a participant should leave the table in the middle of a round, they will be disqualified.
• Paragon Casino Resort may limit the number of entries into the tournament.
• Tournament times are approximate. Paragon Casino Resort reserves the right to change tournament times.
• Paragon Casino Resort may disqualify any person for any prize based on fraud, dishonesty, violation of promotional rules or other misconduct whether or not related to the tournament.
• Paragon Casino Resort may cancel, modify, relocate or reschedule the tournament(s) for any reason with prior approval by and/or notification to the appropriate gaming regulators.
• By participating in the tournament entrants agree to the rules brought forth by Paragon Casino Resort
• Value chips will not be used for tournament play.
• All decisions regarding the interpretation of rules, eligibility, etc. for the tournament lies solely with the management of Paragon Casino Resort. Management decisions are final.
• All winnings will be rounded off and paid in chips after the final round.
• By participating in this tournament, participants grant Paragon Casino Resort permission to use his/her name, photograph, and likeness in connection with any advertising and promotion and in any manner, without additional compensation, as Paragon Casino Resort, in their sole discretion, shall deem appropriate.
• This tournament is subject to change or modification at any time and the interpretation of the rules, eligibility, and prize distribution is at the sole discretion of Paragon Casino Resort.
• Paragon Casino Resort Management will resolve any dispute or situation not covered by the official rules.
• Paragon Casino Resort reserves the right to cancel, change or modify the tournament at any time, for any reason, subject to all applicable regulatory approval, provided that such modification shall not, as of the date of such modifications, materially alter or change any participant’s prize already awarded.
• If the tournament should be cancelled for any reason, all entry fees will be returned to the registrant.
• All rounds are depending on player participation.
• Wild Card drawing will be used as needed to even out tables.
Prize Structure
• 1st Place – 48%
• 2nd Place – 18%
• 3rd Place – 10%
• 4th Place – 9%
• 5th Place – 8%
• 6th Place – 7%
Round progression (All rounds are subject to change due to participation)
Preliminary Rounds
o The first Preliminary session will start at 11AM Saturday June 7, 2025. Following this, each session will commence immediately after the previous session concludes at all tables.
o No more than 6 tables with no more than 6 players.
o Number of sessions depends on participation.
o The top 2 chip leaders from each table advance to the next round.
Quarter-Final Round (as required)
o The first quarter-final session will start at 11AM Sunday June 8, 2025. Following this, each session will commence immediately after the previous session concludes at all tables.
o No more than 6 tables with no more than 6 players.
o Wild Cards drawing may take place to fill a table or session.
o The top 2 chip leaders from each table advance to the next round.
o There will be a Wild Card table where 6 players will be pulled from the Wild Card drum and these players will play a 15-hand round.
Semi-Final Round
o No more than 5 tables with no more than 6 players.
The top chip leader from each table advances to the final round.
Final table seats one thru five.
o The Wild Card Table will consist of one table with up to 6 players from a wild card draw to play a 15-hand round.
o Wild Card winners will have one minute to present themselves and claim their seat. If not present, when time expires another Wild Card will be drawn.
o The player with the top chip count from wild card table will advance to the final table
o Final table seat six.
Final Table
o All six (6) seats will get paid.
