Blackjack Tournaments USA was founded on a shared belief among a group of dedicated tournament players: it was time for a proactive, player-driven effort to rebuild the tournament calendar.
We recognized that the drop in quality and frequency of events wasn’t due to a lack of interest—but a lack of coordination and identity. We needed a central hub for tournament news, rules, hotel and other details, and most importantly, a network of committed players showing up and spreading the word.
Now, we may finally have our best opportunity yet to re-create something as exciting and memorable as the beloved Buffalo Run series that ran from 2015 until late 2019, heralded by many as the “best Open Blackjack Tournament in the Country”—complete with great rules, a welcoming atmosphere, and two days of spirited competition and camaraderie.
Paragon Casino’s new tournament series—June 7–8 and November 1–2—offers the kind of structure, commitment, and forward momentum we’ve been working toward.

Since BJTUSA launched, our network has grown more than fivefold. Some members are regular competitors. Others have, in addition to participating, actively recruited, promoted, or simply shared event news. In whatever manner you’ve supported the cause—we thank you!
There are many ways we can all continue to help make these events successful:
• Show up and play if you can
• Invite someone new to give it a try
• Share the event with friends and fellow players
Paragon’s leadership is committed. This is not a “thrown together” event just so they can say they had a tournament. All levels of their management have worked to build a strong foundation. They want it to continue—as we do. And if we show up in force, we’ll be in a solid position to make a strong case for 3–4 or more top-tier tournaments per year.
This is more than just tournament blackjack—it’s a community, a tradition, and a shared passion. If that passion runs deep enough, we will be successful.
